ANPHIA DAVIES
Anphia is the Managing Director of Van Ellinckhuijzen Davies Incorporated. She holds a BProc degree from the University of South Africa and also completed programmes in Short-term insurance at the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA).
She specializes in civil litigation and more particularly insurance law.
Anphia has been involved in the short-term insurance industry since 1994 and has insider knowledge from broker to insurance company level.
Based on her experience, Anphia developed Short term insurance litigation management software (STILMANS) that enables insurance companies and attorneys to obtain in-time management data from a web based dashboard for 24/7 control of their recovery- and third-party claims.

Anphia believes in the measurement of outcomes statistically and sees this as the key to successful management.
Anphia also believes in team-work and developing the leadership skills of her colleagues.

ARTHUR DAVIES
Arthur currently practices in the firm’s Contract- and corporate advice department. He holds the following qualifications:
BProc (UP); LLB (Unisa); LLM (Unisa); IISA Introductory Programme in Short-term insurance (Unisa); IISA Programme in short-term insurance (Unisa); Regulatory Examination Certificate for FSP’s and Key individuals; Regulatory Examination Certificate for Representatives.
Arthur headed up the legal department of a leading short-term insurance administrator for ten years. His areas of responsibility included: managing the recovery- and litigation departments, instructing and liaising with attorneys in personal injury claims and disputed insurance claims, drafting and negotiating contracts, labour relations, short-term insurance regulatory compliance and corporate legal advice.

CARLA POTGIETER
Carla joined the VED team during 2015. She holds a LLB degree from the North West University. She completed her articles at a general law practice where she gained valuable experience in a wide variety of legal fields.
Carla has right of appearance in the High Court of South Africa.
Carla is an organized and attentive professional with meticulous problem- solving skills. She is a firm believer that the glass is always half-full.
She heads up our litigation department and is part of the VED management team where she amongst other things is responsible for strategic planning, human resources and general staff well-being.

SANETTE SCHEEPERS
Sanette holds a BProc degree from the University of Pretoria and is an admitted conveyancer.
Sanette has 18 years’ experience in conveyancing and prides herself in exceeding client’s expectations during the transfer process. She can assist with all aspects relating to property law, conveyancing and Deed registrations.
Sanette is a disciplined, focused and skilled individual that gives close attention to all relevant detail, ensuring that the registration of transfer process is completed within the shortest time possible. Sanette is a friendly and caring person of whom our clients and colleagues are very fond.
After-hours Sanette enjoys mountain biking, swimming, kick boxing as well as equine science, animal care, spending time in nature and writing.

LIZANIE VAN DEVENTER
Lizanie holds a LLB degree from the University of Pretoria and was admitted as an Attorney in the North Gauteng High Court.Lizanie qualified as mediator in 2016 when she completed a course in commercial and medical negligence meditation at the University of Cape Town.
Lizanie further qualified as a family law mediator in 2019 through the SAAM accredited, Mediation Academy.
Lizanie is passionate about, and has great interest in all aspects of family Law. Her aim as a family lawyer in South Africa is to provide legal guardians of children involved in custody disputes with the legal assistance they need to resolve issues as quickly and satisfactorily as possible. At all times during the process, Lizanie’s emphasis is on the ultimate welfare, health and happiness of the child/children, and Lizanie and her team will only pursue solutions that recognize that – whether it means that the mother, father or other legal guardian is granted custodial rights.

Lizanie understands the emotional trauma and stress that a parent or guardian undergoes in the time of divorce and child custody disputes. Together, she strives to do everything it takes to ensure that any issues are resolved quickly, affordable and – most importantly – within your child’s best interests. Child custody in South Africa involves gaurdianship issues concerned with fathers’ custody rights and mothers’ custody rights and the resultant parenting plan agreement. As registered and skilled mediator, Lizanie can assist with the mediation and drawing up of parenting plan agreements.
After-hours Lizanie’s enjoys mountain biking, painting and drawing. She also loves spending time with her dog, Luka.

RHÉNE VORSTER
Rhéne holds BLC and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria, as well as a LLM degree from the University of South Africa with advanced family law as main subject. She also holds a Certificate of Proficiency, an Intermediate Certificate in Business Studies and a Higher Certificate in Insurance from the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA).
Rhéne was admitted as an attorney in the High Court of South Africa in the year 2000 after completing her articles at a general law practice where she gained valuable experience in a wide variety of legal fields.
Rhéne has a background in the insurance industry working as a legal advisor at Meridian, Brolink and Santam. She headed up the litigation department at Brolink for 4 years. Her areas of responsibility included: managing the litigation department, instructing and liaising with attorneys in recoveries, third-party claims, personal injury claims and disputed insurance claims including liaising with the Short-term Ombudsman.

As litigation has always been her first passion she decided to return to the practice during 2017, and now specialises in civil litigation, delictual compensation and insurance law.
Rhéne likes to travel and her hobbies include scuba diving, photography, scrapbooking and spending time with her children.
