ABOUT

Van Ellinckhuijzen Davies Incorporated was established in 2007, at the time under the name and style of “Van Ellinckhuijzen Attorneys”. In 2012 the partnership was converted to a company, Van Ellinckhuijzen Davies Incorporated trading as VED Attorneys.

We are conveniently situated within the 15-kilometre radius from the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court, Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court as well as the North Gauteng High Court. Our Docex addresses throughout Gauteng allow us to accept instructions without appointing correspondents, making it more cost effective for our clients. Our Docex addresses throughout the rest of South Africa (outside of Gauteng) enable us to drive litigation without correspondents up until the day before the trial, reducing correspondents’ costs to a fraction of the normal expense. This means that VED can practise throughout South Africa without incurring correspondents costs, as experience has learned that less than 5% of cases proceed all the way to trial.

Van Ellinckhuijzen Davies Incorporated is not a general practice. We only practise in specialised fields of law. We believe that the boutique size of our firm contributes to better quality of work.

VED utilises advanced computer and communications technology and all its professionals are supported by well-qualified and highly trained secretarial- and administrative personnel.

VED’s fee- and tariff structure are negotiable depending on, inter alia, the importance, urgency and complexity of the work. On commercial matters, agreement can be reached on conditional success fees.
